Biostatistician / Health Technology Assessment (HTA)

    Student in a Master’s program, Engineering School or Business School with a specialization in Biostatistics, Health Economics, Biomedical Sciences, or Health Technology Assessment (HTA).

We are looking for a Biostatistician to join our team!

Working within Avicenna.AI’s Clinical Studies Department, you will contribute to a medico-economic study aiming to demonstrate both the economic value (cost reduction) and the medical value (gain in Quality-Adjusted Life Years – QALY) of Avicenna.AI’s applications, in order to show that they are cost-effective.

Main Responsibilities

You will work in close collaboration with the Clinical Affairs, Sales, and Product departments.

Your main missions will include:

  • Conducting a literature review on the costs associated with the medical imaging market.
  • Developing a deterministic model to simulate healthcare scenarios with and without AI.
  • Building a Markov model to assess patient survival states following disease detection.
  • Investigate how AI performance metrics (e.g., sensitivity, specificity, area under the ROC curve, and false-negative rates) can be translated into economic outcomes and patient-level benefits, linking technical performance with health and cost impacts.
  • Assisting the department with statistical analyses.

 

Contributing to the writing of a scientific publication summarizing the study results.

Skills

  • Excellent command of professional English and French (reading and writing).
  • Previous experience in bibliographic research and the use of PubMed and Google Scholar.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, MATLAB, or SAS).
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
  • Dynamic, autonomous, and rigorous, with good interpersonal skills.
  • Curious, with strong analytical, reading, and writing skills.
  • Interest in Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), particularly in medical imaging.
